Jane Goodall’s holistic views are, no doubt, built on studying the planet – each part of our world affects the others. Just as each one of us affects others. When I was a child, a general organizational principle was that of a hierarchy or pyramid. We now discuss things in terms of webs, organization with no clear center. When you can see clearly, any person – regardless of projected power – is no more effective than yourself. Your seeming impotence is an illusion forced on you so that you will quit. However, if you act and embrace and jiggle your local webs, watch how the resonant vibrations grow. Your power comes from a recognition that you are not an isolated piece but, instead, a part of a greater whole. The whole will lift you just as you will lift it.
